Decided Clio owners can't sell cars....

Got my £3000 to go and buy a cheap plaything/daily driver car with, so set about the task this afternoon of ringing round pretty much all the decent looking 172's and 182's in a 100mile radius.

Not ONE of them had the ability to be driven away, or they just didn't answer the phone. seriously, who is stupid enough to try selling cars off their driveway with no Tax or MOT? You can't tax a vehicle till your insurance certificate arrives so you'd be stuck for days!

Anyone else had problems trying to buy a Clio from foolish kids with no idea how to prepare a car for sale?

Annoyed. lol.

Kirky.

PS, if anyone close to the Guildford area (100miles max) has a half decent, TAXED and MOT'd 172 or 182 for sale for less than £3000. PM me. ;)

I was trying to flog my 182 for £3200 a few weeks ago and got the opposite, nobody was interested. Taxed, tested, belts done, 42k, very clean, the lot. Found a second love for it now though and decided to keep it.

A car should always be ready to be driven away. However, with the almighty technological advance of email, you can have your insurance certificate emailed to you the same day, and tax it the day you pick the car up.

OR.

Use the price of tax as a deposit, forward docs, get seller to tax it, job done.
