Decisions... Help Needed

Currently on my Ph-Quick I have a K&N 57i Kit which has been on there for the last 3 years and is getting a bit worse for wear now.

So i'm thinking of changing it and I'm looking at the 57i Gen 2 kit. They cost about £172 so lots more than a standard K&N but I'm happy with the old kit and love the noise so I'm certain I would not be unhappy with the Gen 2 kit.

However there is that niggle in the back of my mind that I should spend the extra dollar and go for the ITG maxogen kit.

If the maxogen kit sounds like a K&N then I would definately go for it. So if anyone is in the East Midlands area and has a Maxogen kit on their 172/182 I would love to come and see how it sounds?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Try a K+N Apollo if you love the sound , floor and roar

One on ebay at the moment . Plus you can always colour code it if its not the right colour .

Id go for a viper or maxogen mate.

Vipers make a lovely noise, if thats what you're after.

sat in my mates on the standard exhaust and it was LOUD at full throttle, lol.

Vipers sound nice with an open end i.e air feed not attatched, just facing towards it. Maxogen are a fair bit quieter iirc, but supposidly give better gains. Depends if you can warrant spending £350 on an air filter! Im on the look out for a second hand maxogen at the moment.

Tbh thats the issue. I dont want to spend £350 for the car to sound quieter than it currently is. Even if the maxogen gives a bit of again.

Anyone got and vids or sound clips of a viper on their 172/182?

Ali's got a maxogen on his. He posted up a vid of him driving through a tunnel and it sounded sweet. But hes gota decat and zorst aswell though. Will have a look for it.

If you want loud, then i would go for a viper or stick with your k&n.
