Declaring mods to insurance

Da

Car  Less
..that aren't done yet! As in, i've just renewed my policy and told them it's lowered, however I have the springs but plan to fit them over christmas holidays. In the event of a claim would this cause me any problems??
:rasp:

So you have declared them and not put them in yet?

If so wont make any difference ! Your still covered

yeah i've told them it's lowered and it isn't! lol! Plan to fit the springs in next 3-4 weeks.

Yer u will be :)

thats the best way to do it probably !! get urself covered before it done....

But what if he had an accident on the way TO the garage?? For mods declared, it should be as your car is at that moment in time.If you have declared mods to your insurance but haven't actually had those mods done, then you're in exactly the same position as if you had had mods done and not declared them!! Thats certainly the way it works with all the insurance companies i've ever dealt with anyhow

^^ i see what you are saying but it doesnt really matter ?

I have a carbon bonnet declared on my policy.

Sometimes ive had to have it off the car and standard has gone back on.
Ive now checked with my insurance company and they have told me it doesnt matter. Its a declared part so if i had a crash and it was on there no problem, if it wasnt on there no problem as the standard part is back on the vehicle.... as long as i dont go and put a totaly different bonnet ont he car they said im fine.

Also if you had alloys declared and you got a puncture and had to put 1 steelie wheel on then what? your insurance would be invalid as ur drivign home?
