Deleting aircondition system on 172 ph1 is it worth it??

  Vavavoom172 ph1
Well we all need aircondition in cars specially countrys like mine that can reach up to 39-40 degrees summer time...But i already have my second family car with extra like this systems..so if someone did install deleting kit on a clio ph1 pls write some info about:
is it worth it? costing? gain serious Hp's? something else??

You should get some benefit in the way of a reasonably substantial weight reduction (I was told about 15kg) also a few potential extra horses as the engine wont be driving the band round it which puts up some degree of resistance. If its a track car you're after then defo worth it (as i think you keep the fan and heater functions) but for road car use I wouldn't bother simply because of the convenience of demisting quickly in the winter.

you will see a 2bhp ~ gain, but the weight reduction is more beneficial as you loose around 15kg

No air-con in the Med ? You must be crazy ! I don't like having no air-con in the UK....

Take the back seats out .. or lose a few Kgs yourself ;) Probably just as noticeable.

May I also suggest ditching the rear seats first, at least they're a lot easier to take out.... and put back in!

hahaha..yes here its like hell in summer.. but 15 kg lower its 0.5 almost 0.8 sec quicker at start point if you go track race.(i set to much?)
its not healthy to talk about street racing coz "kids are watching this movie"
if its your only car and live in med yes!! then you don't cancel it that easy, but if you have a second car with...then i don't mind cancel it.

in cyprus we need cars with aircondition like you don't need cabrios in england:)

thank you all for responding

We need Cabrios in England to take full advantage of even the slightest glimmer of sun, as normally it'll come out during the daily commute!

thanks pink..its a challenge for me to make it happend as i never try it before in my garage....is it better to have a profectionall with me or its not that complicated?!? ill look up the above parts that i need....hope i can find them here...or we manage something else.

it´s not rocket science but should be a bit fiddly due to the lack of space in the bay. You can order these parts via Ktec or Wests Renault (should be cheaper). Better sign up as a full member!

Only thing that would make me even consider losing AC (even up here in the north) is fitting a Supercharger kit.
