dephaser pulley problems

hi does anybody know what are the symtoms of dephaser pulley when there is a problem on it

noisy at start up, i dont think we have ever done any on a clio sport though, its usually the 1.4/1.6 megane/scenic that has the problems

my car have a noise on idle when it is warm like a deisel engine can it be from dephaser pulley or some thing else (i have changed the valve lifters)

it is constant on idle and when the engine is warm

Same sound here. Sounds as though it's coming form the centre of the rocker cover though.

its a known fault on the 172/182 though.

My first 172 had it, noisy on idle, almost like a diesel. Rev it slightly and it goes away, if so its your dephaser pulley. Not sure how expensive they are as the car was new to me, so I chose the refund option!
