Df187..can you use an rs tuner to fault find this

Hi all,
Need to chase a DF187 fault in the Trophy. Apprciate its a trigger line incoherance. which means it could be any of the air bag or pretensioner connections. (if i have read my google correctly)

Two questions.
1.Can you turn off all the systems using the Rs tunner with airbag module and then turn each one back on one by one to find which connection is causing the light?
2. I know the rs tunner is locked to the ecu for tunning but can I borrow a random one for airbag adjusting/code reading.

I have an decent code reader but i dont believe it does airbag configuration. So trying to work out the best way of fault finding.

Forgot to add the car had a sabelt but no resistor so i'm pretty sure the ecu had been reset to not look for an air bag.
