dials - needles being weird

just lately, on startuo (usually first of the day/if been left a while) the needles go down lower than resting position, shake a little, and then rise to the level where they should be

Any reason for them doing this? Could it be cold/battery related?

I have this too now, only happened a few times when its been really really cold ouside but I can only assume it will get worst. Mines due a service too so I assume it will be all sweet after that

It is really annoying, and as you say has only started since its had a few cold icey mornings. theres a place called justclio's in Bradford, might pop in see if theyve got a clue

I get it too, happens everytime i start up now, also have an odd one where I turn my lights on and the speedo needle goes up to and fluctuates around 160mph - and increases mileage accordingly too......renault electrics!!!!

Is it likely to be a fault with the dials? or just a relay/poor electrical signal making them do an early morning 'dance'

i would guess that resoldering where all the wires go at the back would sort it? did this to fix my old LCR immobilser and it made the gauges smoother and more accurate too, bonus!

good point, might just take them out nd push connectors on a little more, might have come loose

Battery test might be in order then, halfords on me lunch break. Its being lazy when starting too first thing in a morning, its this cold yorkshire weather, killed the battery on my old car!
