Diesel Clio 1.5 Cold start problem

Problem,
A 2003 and 160,000 mile clio needs quickstart aerosol to get it going in the mornings. When accelerating hard the warning lights come on. The car was fine 3 months ago but the warning lights come on more and more now, although the car runs OK. I assume it's the injectors that are the problem. However I've been looking around the forum and could it be the sealing and a relatively quick/cheap fix?

Sounds like injector or fuel pump failure.

If its injector seals you will have a thick black tar like substance all over the head around the injector

My money is on injectors. Do a leak off test.

Leaking injector seals has little affect on starting , Injectors with that mileage would be more than likely

I did a leak-off test. I connected clear washer pipe to the four low pressure 'outlets' of the injectors. These fed old lemonade bottles on the ground in front of the car. The test showed that one injector is leaking more that the ither three. Three had a couple of feet of diesel in the plastic pipe so the fuel hadn't reached the bottles after the engine had been turned over a couple of times wilst the fourth injector had about 1/2 a cup full in the bottom of the bottle. So my money is on the injector.
Will I need to get the electronics stuff re-programmed with the replacement injector?

You'll need to code the new injector yes. But IMO I'd replace the 4, as generally once one has gone the others won't be far behind.

My local place dont recode they remove, refurbish and refit in the same order and there is no need for re coding
