Diesel Clio's, which are the good ones?

  185lb/ft dCi
good advice from dci 80 there.

injectors are right infront of you when you take the engine cover off. you will see 4 of them in a line with metal pipes going into them from the fuel pump. they also have a label near the top of them with some numbers on it.

I've tried to have a look around about coding these injectors, and apparently it doesn't have to be a renault job. just need the right software that can read it, this can do it: http://www.tec-stop.co.uk/sykes_acr_4.html

but of course, way out of price for any of us, but some decent garages should have stuff like that. It seems a simple process: http://www.mitinka.ru/files/launch_x431_renault_coding.pdf

I think refurbing them is the best bet. About 80 for each injector and you don't have to code them

yeah best bet for johnson here would be refurbing them like you say, then you know they aren't going to break 5 minutes down the road. I just got abit carried away looking into coding them lol

no one knows if the c4 items will work yet do they? think magnastik was looking into it, he is definitely looking into something in his updates in his project thread.

I am considering changing to a diesel but want to stick with a clio as I love my current one.

I have about £4000 to spend if I do eventually go for one, are there better ones out there and ones with a bad reputation?

I would rather have a mk2 ph2 model instead of the larger newer models.

If you want you can have mine for £4000 lol

Its the same delphi system I believe so can't see why not

Yeah I think they need to be coded to the car, so that the ecu knows the flow rate or each injector so it knows how much fuel to pump through. I just hope that the ecu can go to a higher flow rate than standard items, probably need a remap for the c4 injectors. and also hope that the pump would be alright with it, dont want to put too much pressure on it.

Pump may be able to be swapped with the c4 one if the mounts and pully are fetteled with. And I imagine a remap would be needed.

Yes usually. Just contacted delphi fuel systems and waiting to hear back from them about higher performiung injectors

Can you just refurb the faulty one or do they all need done?

EDIT: Ignore this lol. Will they rape me on cost trying to figure out which one needs a refurb?

Seen this mentioned a few times just one question nobody i has ever said which model c4 hdi 1.6 hdi 2.0 guessing there different ?

I thought it was out of the 1.4 model:

http://www.dieseljones.co.uk/common...-16v-delphi-common-rail-injector-r01001a.html

I think some newer citroens run bosch systems, need to know more about it. wonder if theres a citroenhdi.net haha

@Magic, thats why you could do with a decent diagnostic so you know which one(s) are failing. Depends on how expensive it is for the refurb whether to get them all done.

  dCi 65 + C2 (<Sold)
It was low pressure fuel rail or something like that, and speedo?

What if it isn't the injectors? And I pay to get them all done?

*weeps*

Its usaully when the washer is letting out compression and when the injectors get blocked up with crap you can usually the injector or injectors that have failed anyway you can usually see which ones have gone

  185lb/ft dCi
yeah could do with checking them, you might be able to see some signs so you can see which ones need sorting. worth a shot, depends how confident you are of doing it. Dont want to make it worse.

@dci 80, found this on the web: http://www.merlindiesel.com/media/productdoc365.pdf

delphi document saying what they put in every diesel engine they have made, check half way down document, should see the list. might come in handy for something.

Booked into the specialists tomorrow. He says new ones will need to be put in, at a cost of £130 each, coding is cheap and labour is cheaper.

I asked if he could just find out what one is faulty and he said no problem. So it's booked in tomorrow @ 9am.

good move, at least a specialist will look at it and won't give you the sort of crap excuses like a cowboy would. I went to a specialist when mine was randomly cutting out, he found it was some wires corroded from the ecu to the injectors, due to the wet weather. If i went anywhere else they would have charged me for a whole new loom for sure.

good luck with it and i hope its not too costly!

Not sure, obviously the DCi 100 will be faster but not by much. Mapped though you'll see 110-115bph / 115-125bhp respectively (iirc).

Torque 180 / 190 respectively (again iirc).

But why would you buy a diesel for speed?
