Differance in suspension cup and standard 172

hi is the only difference in the suspension the springs? or are they completely different shocks in a 172 mk2 and 172 mk2 cup?

Shocks are different as well.
Suspension setup is different as well.

ah so putting the cup springs on wont do the car any good

Subframe
Wheels
Different wheel offset
Tyres I think
Height wise 5mm lower front and 7 back.

ok thanks for that information. So putting cup springs on wont harm the car but it wont give any of the benefits of the ff car?
