Dimma?

Can someone explain what these are? Haha, is it just the bodykit? What's so good about them?

They are oldskool so I guess that's why. The one thing I never liked about them was the big boot spoiler, it looks nasty.

Dimma kit is legendary.

Still looks awesome today imo.

The proper steel/ali dimma kits were cool in the 90's. They also offered turbo conversions. They cost a fortune. Sadly replica kits came out and there were lots of bodged attempts out there.

Similar to V6 replicas now.

Some cars came with factory fitted kits on them, the majority were fitted afterwards though, having said that, they are very rare.

There were also about 16 or so factory Dimma'd Williams !

Engine wise, i'm almost certain they were standard.

Agree with that, proper ones were very tidy, replicas were s**t.

My 205 Dimma was factory fitted and had the Dimma Plaque on the slam panel, was very, very tidy, not a crack or bit of ill fiting body work in sight.

When people are talking about factory fitted, do they mean Dimma factory fitted?

I have owned mine for 13 years, bought it from first owner after 6 months old, this car however was fitted by Renault and sold brand new from their showroom floor, quite unique I gathered so I am surprised to see people mention factory unless they mean Dimma factory.

Have not driven it for 4 years, it's a garage queen as far as i'm concerned.

All clio kits were fibreglass, the 106 i thought was too however yes there were rally cars as well but only for the 106, not sure what they were made of

By factory I meant straight from Renault as in it was built like from the off and sold as a new car with the kit on (like the one you have by the sounds of it) rather than someone buying the kit on it's own and getting it fitted to thiers as an "aftermarket" job...

Proper cool cars. People who know nothing about cars will think its just an old Clio with a boy-racer kit on it but those who know their stuff will stop in their tracks for the right reasons. Similar with things like the vee really.
