Dint/Scratch removal

  172

Came out of the local super market at the weekend to find some mailto:tw@t">tw@t had dinted/scratched my car... and ive only had it 4 weeks :(

Its only a small dint but theres also a nasty inch long scratch in the same spot. To make it worse my 172s black so this silvery/white scratch stands out like a saw thumb. Id image this has been done by an openning car door or a trolly.

Has anyone self repaired this kinda thing before or is it a garage job?

BTW its on the passanger rear quarter... just in case it makes a big difference.

if you wanna pay 60 quid and let them bodge it up then sure chipsaway, but thats all it is, a bodge.

get the panel sprayed and repaired if you can afford it

cheers... how much are we looking at?
concidering its the rear quarter id asume a lot as it looks a pretty hard panel to remove.

avoid chipsaway at all costs! most are just cowboys who learnt it in a fortnight! there is a few decent ones with theyre own workshop etc, but in general avoid them like the plague! get it fixed at a decent bodyshop, learn from it, and always double park right in the middle of the line in supermarkets ;)

my mint condition williams got absolutely ruined by a monkey from chipsaway, a couple of years back, all nice now tho :D

i have just had dings and dents do my clio this morning, the guy did about 10 little dings in total all around the car, i cant believe it they are all totally gone now, bloody incredible

i was thinking bout chipsaway but the dings and dents guy said avoid it as they are terrible really

i am coming up with an invention to solve door dings before they happen, i may put a thread up bout it once i have tested it, maybe sell some to.
