directional tyres

I had two new Eagle F1s fitted yesterday - £71 each from protyre in Slough.

I asked for the rears to be moved to the front and the new tyres put on the back, as recommended by a few peeps in previous threads.

But the bloke at the tyre place said that because the F1s are directional the new tyres should be put on the front.

Obviously I deferred to the expert and had them on the front.

I was under the impression that directional tyres are specific to either the left or right since they should rotate one way only, i.e. they can be on the back or the front as long as its the correct side.

Am I right?

Im on the driving academy at Heyford in two weeks so Id rather not have my new tyres run half-bald so soon.

if you look at the tyres it says on the tyre wall, left and right for which way round they should go

Usual BS you get from these places! It drives me mad. Sometimes they just say stuff to make themselves look knowlegable. Unicar in Leeds and RAM audio in wakefield are both places that do this EVERY time you go in. If anyone knows of a place that you can go that doesnt BS you all the time let me know!!!

Just make sure the directions the right way on both. depends which way they put the tyre on the rim to the direction like.

yeah make sure there going the right way coz the tread will push water under the tyre instead of away from it in the wet,, making you likley to aquaplane.
