took my wheels off and used engine and machine cleaner on them with a paintbrush and got them like this

but cant get them any cleaner.. anyone got any recommendations?
use a stiffer car cleaning brush thing? should the AGE&M cleaner get them spanking?
best to clay, polish, and wax them too after to keep the dirt from building up?

used ag engine n machine cleaner on the arches too:

An acid based cleaner and clay by the looks of it to get the rest of the grime off Guy. Still may not all come off.

The Autoglym Super Resin and Extra Gloss inside and out.

do you reckon i should try some fairy power spray on it?? seen yoz and a few others rate it.. just didnt know if it would be too harsh on the wheel paint?

Try Wonder Wheels, its a acid product and will bring your wheels up like new. Just be careful with it though when applying, you dont want it going in your eyes. Cant remember who makes it but its available in Halfords etc.

Doubt it will be any worse than high acid based ones like Wonder Wheels, or Autoglym Wheel cleaner.

It will take something strong to cut through that. Hopefully you will only need to use it once, if you protect and seal them well and maintain them after.

Is it that bad for the alloys then?
I always mix it with water to prevent the laquaer (sp) from peeling off.

If your worried about using wonder wheels you could always dilute it with water .

I got some stuff off ebay quite while ago , Astonish alloy wheel cleaner , shifts sh*t really well , cleaned all the baked on sh*t on my brake calipers before i wire brushed em for painting .
The sh*t litterally just washes off with very little effort in terms of scrubbing .

Anybody else ever used Astonish alloy wheel cleaner ??

MrBillyUK !

He will need it full strength to have any chance of shifting that. Its only on the backs at least, I have seen it dull paint on the front faces used full strength.

That Astonish sounds up to the job then!
