Disgusted with Renault!

Asking for parts is abit optomistic, and tbh they probably think your more interested in getting some free parts for your car more than your bothered about making it right.

£75 is a bad compensation offer though so I think both parties should show abit more consideration.

whoops not allowed an opinion again.

i don't think I'm out of order. As the renault employee said. They fixed it didn't they? thats what warranties are for. if every time something broke on a car and people went fishing for free stuff, there would be nothing left!!!!

Nobody said you weren't entitled to an opinion :S and for the record i agree with you that repairing the faults under warranty is enough and that the £75 is more than adequate compensation.

However, the way you worded your response was out of order as far as im concerned and a bit childish resorting to name calling and making it in to a personal insult.
Theres an old saying, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all...

i ment no direct offence racerg6, however, i do not need to justify myself to you nor anyone else.

i'll leave u with another old saying. 'Mind ur own business'

O dear thats the garage i use, they didn't listen to me when i said DONT wash my car when my old one went in for a service. Although their parts desk has always been very usefull.

More to the point, sound like you are being fairly reasonable about it, maybe asking for those parts is a bit cheeky, but worth a try hey!

Asking for parts is a bit cheeky IMO, yes. Not as cheeky as continually churning out cars with the same faults though, such as the seats falling apart after 100 miles, or rear screens shattering (Megane) and having a dealership network that, largely, know the sum total of f**k all about said car.

The seat issue is the one that would be bothering me the most :(

It sounds as though they're addressing the issues under warranty. Offering £75 seems more than fair to me.

i agree with weebaws, as long as you've been supplyed with a suitable car while yours is being repaired so your not inconvienienced, uve came off £75 better off tbh

and id make sure the seats are replaced under warranty as you know yourself that is NOT wear and tear

I agree :approve:

lol @ expecting free parts but tbh I think you should be asking for your seats sorted asap because you leave it any longer I can see the wear and tear line comming out.

The clutch and seat issue should be more than enough to warrant you rejecting the car and asking for a new one.
Asking for skirts and a splitter is slightly pushing your luck mind you.

oh grow up you saddo's.

asking for parts was cheeky imo and the way i read it makes you out to just want some freebies. so i would be thinking what a freeloader tbh if i was renault.

i would have been concentrating on the faults like the seats as you come across as not caring about those at all.

clutch failure after 3 weeks is unacceptable, id give the car back and want a full refund.

id look eslewhere for a car if i were you. wouldnt want a car back thats had that kind od porblem within that space of time.

seats wearing is a common problem but still unacceptable...

tell them you'l give the car back with a full 100% refund and walk away! Renault will loose more money by doing this than giving you £75!

Whats with all this giving the car back crap, do you honestly think that 3 months after the cars been sold Renault will just have the car back and had over £15k or whatever was paid for it when they won't even give anymore that £75 compensation.

If she told you they'd supply (and fit?) a splitter and skirts (out of interest shouldn't a 197 already have them?) then that's what they should do.

Take it higher and say you're dealing with Renault not Susan whatever. Ask if Claire was dismissed for offering compensation over and above the guidelines. At the end of the day it comes down to how much you really care about it.

If you play it right, you could get them, don't speak to a manager and say "I want a splitter and skirts". Play it as if Renault told you that you could have a splitter and skirts as compensation, and now Renault are saying you can't. That you feel messed about and you'll not be using their network ever again if this is how they do business.

"I have every faith that once a fault does occur, our specialised dealer network will be able to repair it as quickly and effectively as possible."

Nothing like a bumped up 3 month old thread to liven the forum up abit, well done whoever bumped it.

As for the above comment, the seat issue would bother you the most? sod the fact that the clutch is fucked and the cars not running properly, as long as you get some new seats so that you can sit in your car and not drive it, thats all that really matters.

Lol @ asking for free parts!!!
Thats what warranty is for, these things happen statistically the amount of 197s on the road theres bound to be the odd one that has a few teething problems, you've just been unlucky. As long as you've been given a courtesy car etc I think £75 is fair enough, I would have pushed for the first service free.
Lol @ rejecting the car 3 months down the line, you have to give them the oppurtunity of fixing it.

Hand it back and ask for your money back.

As Kenny said, this car isnt suitable for purpose and your within right to hand it back.
