Need to do this tomorrow as one of the back-light bulbs has blown behind the heater controls and I just wondered if anyone could offer any advice?

Anyone done it before? How many bulbs are there behind the controls as I plan to replace them all once its in bits. Are they accessed by removing the stereo??

Cheers peeps ;)

P.s its a Mk2 Ph2

no they are 1.2w filament lamps behind the clock display with an orange filter

for the clock bulbs you have to remove the dash top... then you have access to the screws to remove the clock.

There are 2 bulbs behind the clock which make the LCD panel brighter, and also 2 next to the clock for the seatbelt light and something else which i cant remember.

so i have to remove the whole dash, to change bulbs

doesnt help when ur useless at these things and you dnt know anything about the removing the dash or anything:sick:

Where the clock is, the surround just pulls off as its glued into plastic clip things, but be careful as theyre fragile. Just get a thin screwdriver and slowly work your way around the plastic, being careful not to snap the clips or damage your dash material

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! Just finished changing the lamps behind the heater controls and I can honestly say, what a f**king pain in the arse it was!! Who ever designed the centre console wants shooting! :devilish: All that work for 2 poxy 1.2w filament lamps! What a joke! lol!

But, on a positive note, managed to clip it all back together ok and managed to keep all the plastic crappy clips intact! :D
