Do all V6 suffer stone chips

Tested a V6 255 in silver today and it had stone chips on the front end around the fogs and cracked the window screen. i know some cars are prone to them?

oh apart from that is was a wonderful:D

Jeremy had a front respray on his after the Scotland trip last year, I know Slugger and SpecialKs has battle scars too as well as a cracked fog light.

The front of the Clio is hardly aerodynamic, and models like the V6 and 172/182 get driven hard so stone chips are impossible to avoid. Ive got 3 stone chips in my windscreen.

Nothing that cant be sorted out.

My silver V6 has covered 26k miles and there arent that many stonechips - the worst marks are under the front bumper where its scrapped kerbs and various animals, etc.

If its particularly bad Id assume it may have been tailgaiting everyone, all of its short life!

ours does a lot of motorway miles, so it is inevitable that it will get a lot of stone chips, unfortunately - but my Mk1 172 was the worst for fog lights - had about 4 in 12 months !!!

how much is a front end respray likely to cost.

the bonnet is ok its the lower nose between the lights that stone chip damaged

My Mk1 cost me £300 that included a tougher more flexible lacquer. The approved Renault body shop quoted me £1200

Doesnt it really depend on what kind of driving your doing.

My missus drives mostly motorways and she has accumulated quite a few stone chips. My motor has only been on the motorway a handful of times and has about 3 which you wouldnt notice unless youre anally retentive like me lol!!

Ive done 4.5k and have 4 or 5 nice chips. Chipsaway quoted £150 to fix them, leaving it a month or so before I get it done. Fortunately the front of the car is all plastic, so its just cosmetic.

We have been quoted for a respray of the whole front bumper and bonnet with a "plastisicer" in the paint too for nearly £500

I think its more due to thin paint and cost cutting than the way you drive. Ive only done 11k in 2 years in my Cup most arround Brum with about 1k of motorway milage. Ive got atleast 30 stone chips on my bonnet where my old mans BMW thats done 120k has 1 chip.
