Do I need to change Dephaser Pulley?

Car  Clio 182
Hi guys,

I'm getting my belts changed is it worth doing the dephaser pulley or not? My cars 54 plate with 32k.

Im just thinking saving booking car in again just do it all in one

Thanks:)

I didn't when i had mine done year ago, with 36k, but a broken dephaser was unheard of then.

10000s of threads on it lately, no idea why they are all suddenly failing.

Assumed you knew this, cos otherwise why would you consider changing it out of interest?

I have looked through some threads, any some people have been changing them. I just thought to hit the cost and work all in one. My car hasnt done the mileage but the age is where I'm thinking to replace bits.

Its short journies that tends to knacker them- If JMS are doing the belts then they can check over the pulley- you will here it on idle if its shagged, however when its off they will 100% know

For the relatively modest additional cost while the belts are off I'd do it. I'd also throw on a new waterpump too as they're only about £25 even for a genuine one and mine shat itself shortly after I had my belts done.
