Do I still need a squib??

Good evening all

I’ve recently completed a EPAS conversion on my 182 track only car.
I’ve installed a quick rack into the original rack, I’ve fitted a dci column with a BTT motorsport little control box, my question is does the squib still need to be fitted?? Does it play any part with this set up??

Squib is not needed for epas operation, its only for horn and airbag, and cruise/asr if yours has them options

Thanks I thought this was probably the case, horn & cruise control have been removed & have an aftermarket steering wheel.
