my mate with a tvr takes the piss sometimes
but I rip into him at meets with his lot whilstwe are standing there talking about radio 2 and which bit of their car has broken this week so fairs fair
If you spend more time on your car than chasing women you are sad.
If you balance both equally, youre fine.

yeh but i couldnt give a sh*t what others think,i find it kind of amusing that it winds others up actually, to say someone else is sad is subjective, im sure everyone does something in their life that someone else may think is sad, what youll find at work is people thrive on taking the piss out of someone who does something that bit different and especially if they have an audience to support them
the way I see it is that if your happy then whatever

I wish I had a pound for every time someone trys to take the piss about this... BUT I have so many great friends, a MAD busy social life and a circle of friends that cover most counties of the south of england... Apart from endless sound advice

I dont get any of that. You pull into works car park and their are many Z3s, Z4s, a RS Focus, M3s etc so in out place the standard supercar thingy is standard. One guy who put more plastic on his 1.4 astra got loads of *hit as he crashed it..
Ive been reading / posting on these forums for a few weeks, and my membership is in the post (hopefully).
Its really great coz i feel like im learning a lot from just reading what other people say. Seriously - a couple of weeks ago i didnt know what a camshaft was, or how a cylinder actually worked.
Not quite reached the stage where i can sound off the renault part number for the passenger side sill plate off by heart, but were getting there
Oh yeah, and the other thing is i really like the way people give their honest opinions on here as well, and they seem to coincide with mine. So like if someones stuck a 400 quid snow plough on the back of their boot, theyll genuinely say its OTT if it is.

yup when i delved into barryboys.co.uk there was a guy ripping modded cars but he himself pretends to be an army man at weekends and plays with toy guns. real man huh?
the internet is so big now that you cant be considered sad for reading about cars on forums... some people dont spend time looking at forums adn stuff, thats fair enough but then its probably because they have no capacity to read, learn and expand their knowledge
- these are the people down the pub banging on about their £5 chip off ebay and how their car can beat a porsche etc etc.
I dont tend to bring it up unless I have to.
Anyone who knows me and knows of my involvement usually had the wrong idea of what a car club is like, but now can see why I joined.
However reading posts about people practicing hand brake turns on frozen car parks makes me want to distance myself from the club!!
I suppose to answer the original question, I do find it sad to a degree, but Id be more worried if I didnt do other things and have friends outside the club.
To be honest, I reckon my life would be a whole lot better with PCs in general, but then Id be out of work too. LOL

hey tis good fun! as long as u aint stupid about it, even my driving instructor told me to do this to practice controlling a car in icy conditions.
yeah id agre there with the skid control...........best way to learn is go find an empty icy car park n get urself in some strange sideways movements n try get out of em without hittin owt.............better than learnin on the road n when it actually happens to u......then ul be needin a new car probs.........
the amount of friends i have made through this club and its meets tho i would say outweighs the feelin of embarrassment wen other people class u the same as some other members of the same club.......doin the 1.2 thrashin bit and generally jus bein dicks........thats the time wen i myself feel sad that im a member of the same clubs as these people..... hehe

Reality is that when I say Im a member of an "owners club" people think its cool ... tho they dont know just how much time I spend on here!If ever anybody is nasty to me about it ... I just point them at my bessie mate whos a member of the "Funky SMART" club
PS. Im also, I might add, "multi-faceted" - successful career, wonderful family, fit, handsome ....
