Do strutbraces do anything on a Clio?

no as they're not connected directly to the struts , but do seem to strengthen body roll ?

My 172 has Apex spine smashers, A539's and a Sparco front strut brace. The turn in and grip is fantastic in comparison to standard. As a singular mod', you would struggle to see a gain but cumulatively, with other mods', they work IMO.

Ok fitted a OMP front strut brace to my car and it makes no difference FACT !! lol

Nope to get one to do anything you need to have a solid bar and bolt it seriously to the stut tops.

If its fitted properly to the actual suspension struts as apposed to the bodywork then you will notice a change/ feel cornering at higher speeds, but in-town driving, don't expect miracles.. They look fab under the bonnet though
