do valvers have different steering column

the steering column on my valver had been pretty fcuked since i brought it so i thought its about time to change it. i get a steering column from infinicar and went to get it fitted today for a quoated price of £90 sweet i thought, got a phonecall at lunch time today and was told the column iv got is the wrong 1 ( diffrent mounting points or something like that ) and car now sitting here with no column, luckly the garage specialise in steering, then came more bad news, price for new column back in £282inc vat, ouch not what i need when im going to santa pod for the weekend. but i like my car to steer so paid up. car now feels loads better and goes where i want it to

does anybody know if u can get dif columns for valvers??

its a doddle of a job 5 bolts, 4 in dash area one on the steering rack.

a new column is £150

I got a coloumn from infinicar for matts valver, what you need to do is chekc hte length of the lowere sectiion against the values int he haynes manual, cus its designed to be telescopic in th even of an accident, so you dont get trapped by the stearingh wheel, so check that.

I got a valver one for a valver, and it fitted perfectly.

As gunner says fitting is a piece of piss, if you have hands liek a small girl, its a c**t getting up there in the rubber gatair to attach the bottem part, defo a job easier wiht one person to feed it through the car.

Renault quoted £180 for a new column iirc

welll i think there is a difference between the air/non air bag models in a valver does the steering wheel fit because the boss mountings are different between the two.
