Dodgy exhaust mount

  SchwepTek™
Ok so the rubber has perished in one of my exhaust mounts. It has already been bodged once but is it worth buying a new mount from KTec for £20? Are they easy to fit?

Cheers :)

No rattles but its not sitting like the other one so the exhaust tip is slightly lower than the other and looks odd (to me coz im fussy)!

Basically the rubber is really limp and doesnt hold up the exhaust so some pieces of rubber have been wedged in but isnt very good!

Easy to fit, they just bolt on.

The renault part number is

Rear bracket w mount 7700424339 £17.35 plus vat

By the time youve paid postage with k-tec it will be cheaper to go Renault.

yeah just replace it then, its pretty cheap and not a difficult job to do. if you not happy with how it looks... sort it ;)

LMAO cool. Well i'm going to give it a go. Gonna try doing discs and pads myslef too  so might have to get ur number if ur coming to the meet thursday in case i get into problems lol

the exhaust mounts are prone to sagging... its in their nature.

It only needs replacing if the rubber is actually splitting... ortherwise a new one won't make much difference tbh.

A couple of cable ties wrapped around the rubber holding it up slightly is the best bet...

Oh ok guys. I saw a picture of one with rubber piping secured with cable ties??!?! Can i do it with just cable ties then? Wanna draw me some pics? ;)

i bought and fitted a new mount to solve this problem, which it did for a couple of days...

A new mount qont solve the problem if your exhaust is heavy like mine, you'll either need to weld another mount on or find somewhere to wrap cable ties around.
