Dodgy start

Yesterday I had a problem with my car when starting it. When turning the key it wouldnt get the engine ticking over it didnt seem that there was enough there to get it going.

With a bit of gas it started but without the gas it slowly came to a stop, it did this twice but was fine after that. Turned it off when i got to work and restarted it and it was fine still so i thought it was a once off. When to a mates at night and it didnt start again! A bit of gas again and it was fine.

The tickover on my car seems very low I wondered if this might be to do with it. any help apprechiated as its very annoying not being able to rely on my car starting when i need it.

Sounds like the throttle body is blocked you need to remove it clean it and stick it back on.

Ill have a look for that, cheers edde.

BTW will I be able to find out the location of the throttle body in the manual, as thats in my car and i might pop to the car park and get it.
