Dodgy W850i (HELP!)

Hi. I've just recievedmy new phone from my contract, itsa Sony Ericson W850i on orange. Quite like the phone, but i cant text off it!

I go to menu --> messages --> write new and it should come up "SMS". The instruction book has manuals with a screen print showing this.

However, this feature is not on my phone!

I just get MMS, Voice Message or E-mail!

What the hells going on? Is this a dodgy phone?

Looks like it, I'm on o2 andit works. Do you get the same options when you use the left navigation key?

Sounds broken. Click the left arrow (dot), does it come up then?

yea very strange!

The manual bangs on about putting in some number, when i try to do this, the option isnt there either! LMAO WTF!? Only ordered it for the free psp lol

ok! turned it off and back on and its there now.........

lol had nokias since the 5110 came out (good old snake!) why does the space button have to be hash not zero on this phone lol!

well i loved my w850i until i took it on a plane. The outbound journey was fine after the flight back i turned it on and half the buttons wouldnt work. Its mysteriously fixed itself this morning though (3 days later). Hmm i wonder how long it will work though
