Does Disconnecting the Battery clear Warning Lights?

  Cup'd Monaco 172
My emmissions light is on.

My car was hesitating the other day at about 5k, then the light come on.

The hesitation has cleared and car runs fine, but the light is on still.

Assuming the fault that caused the light to come as cleared:
Will disconnecting the negative off the battery clear it?
Does it clear itself after 25 or 40 restarts?
Or is the CLIP computer the only way.

Used Search but the information is contradictary.

Cheers,

Mine threw on all sorts of warning lights on after being rolling roaded and they cleared after a about 3 clean restarts, but think they where all ABS/wheel sensor related.

Cheers,

I had the light on after replacing the plenum...it stayed on for about 24 hours (it started on the Saturday evening, and took until late on the Sunday afternoon to clear...hasn't been back since.

Disconnecting the battery won't clear it.

Check that the pipe just underneath the coil pack at back of engine is connected...as this is what was causing my issue. :)
