Does my engine sound right?

  Clio MK2 1.2 16v
I first noticed a sound rattly-grind noise from the engine the same day that I got my timing belt changed, but stupid me never took it back to see what was up (I'm such a noob with cars). However, the belt was changed back in February and it has seemed fine since - I've kept telling myself to post on a forum to see if anyone has any ideas what the noise is but kept forgetting because I was so busy with work and uni.

As mentioned above, it's a rattly-grind noise coming from the back middle/left of the engine but it's not there when I first started the engine only when it has started to warm up. I'm not sure if it could have anything to do with the timing belt because I actually have no idea where it is. I've got a video where you can hear the noise as soon as the video starts and seems to be louder when I put my phone towards the back of the engine. I've also noticed there's a slight rattle noise from the aux belt now too when I was taking this video :( does anyone have any idea what they could be?

Thanks.

Is there any oil in it? Sounds pretty terminal man like the whole things about to disintegrate I wouldn't drive that give a specialist a shout mate. I had a fiesta sound like that once had no oil in it and I was miles from anywhere drive bout 40miles and with an almighty bang the Conrod came though the block destroyed everything....

Also you might want to check the Cambelt tensioner and talk to some one about the tappets as there adjustable I think ( don't quote me on that ) pm Fred at btm or dan@sjm there both really good

Oil is thicker when cold and as it warms it thins out hence why it only makes the noise when it is at temp. Is there actually oil in it? Surely the work on the belts would come with a 12month warranty so go back to the garage...

Since the oil change in January, the oil level hasn't dropped at all from full. So would this be because the oil thins out or something to do with the belt?

No this noise is more severe than old oil, old oil usally is more top end tappety... If its not the oil level I'd go along lines of worn engine components what mileage are you on? Could be so many things could be worn cams worn engine bearings worn cambelt pully give Fred or dan a message on here see what they say as above surely if I had the belt done on the books the garage will be forced to warrant some of the work I'd pop by and ask some professional advice

It's an 2004 with around 48k miles. I can never remember the sound being there before the timing belt was done though. A friend of a family member who runs a garage did the belt for me, I'll mention it to my dad over the weekend and see what he thinks as he's done a lot of work on cars over the years.

I'll also try messaging Dan or Fred to see if they can suggest anything.

On the 172 etc the dephasar fails and sounds like a diesel could be a similar issue along the cam terrain somewhere a worn cam pully or something if the noise wasn't their before could just be as simple as the water pump bearing or belt pully bearing .. Still with that I wouldn't drive it far or hard or really atall untill it's diagnosed with such low mileage I'td suck if the belt snapped and reuined a decent engine

I took the car back to the garage where the belt was first done today and he took a look today. After a few hours, I got a phone call from him saying he's had it to bits and tested all the parts and can't find where the noise is from. He also said something about just having the fan belt on and it still being there so it could be something to do with that and a bit of alternator noise.
