Does the 182 have a rev limiter?

Just curious as twice in the the last couple of days in second gear when hooning it a bit its cut out like a rev limiter or like fuel cut on a turbo;d car i used to own,

I wonder whether there is a limiter in second as it doesn;t do it at that amount of revs in third or forth etc?

Yeah the rev limiter is the redline, 7250rpm, its the limiter for every gear

Yeah never rev it when cold thats just stupid, if you do an early limiter will kick in around 6 - 6.5k, this tells you its not up to correct temperature

from what i can gather you mean that the car is cutting out and stalling when your giving it some and it is not just hitting the rev limiter?

I wouldn;t hammer it when cold anyway, especially when it runs so crap when cold anyway, this has been when engine been running for a few miles and when giving it some, for some reason the limiter or cut out is happening further down the revs in 2nd but its no problem in the other gears.

Rev counter wont be 100% accurate, mine wasnt on my 172 either, 7250 then 7000
