Does the 182 have a shift light

Id say 99.9% yes...

Has the same clocks as the mk2 172 & Cup, which both have the shift light so it will almost certainly have one.

As for how useful (or visible) it is, thats a whole different story!

^^^ agreed. Maybe a shift bleep would be nice with a little on/off button for normal and racey driving!

Captain Slarty reckons you can easily modify the shift up light to make an audible beep, would be handy......

How?
Piece of p!ss to do it...

Basically just tap into the wires that go to the shift light bulb and that is used to trigger a buzzer/beeper, and you can also put a switch in to disable it if/when not required.

Something Ive thought about!

Would be handy for a couple of reasons >>>

a) When engine is in that "is it warm enough" state
b) For 1/4 mile racing
c) For track use
d) etc...

Its not easy to spot the light and most of the time I dont even look in that direction, but there are times when it would be handy to know the limiter is approaching fast and you are more concerened with the road than the rev counter!

you could also tap in to the light and dash mount a better one, whilst also fitting the bleep....on a switch aswell..still simple electronics!
