You'd be surprised at how many people would believe you.

You don't really need one on a stock Clio tbh, once forced induction gets introduced then I think I'd go for and LSD.

You've clearly never done a trackday with tight bends like the hairpin at Malory if you think a Clio wouldn't benefit from a diff Scrooge. And if its wet then even on more mile corners its very useful.
As you say though with forced induction it's even more important.

i took a drive in a 197 a few days ago...it felt really reactive on turn in and the grip when exiting corners were far better than my ph1 172...why is that? (my friend who lend the car told me it's cuz 197's have lsd, stock)

One tyre fire out of tight corners is fun though chip ;)

I wouldn't say it's worth the cash for a few tight corners no.

I found my old 197 so more planted in the bends too compared to the 1*2's, but they don't have an lsd standard, are your sure your friend hasn't been taking LSD? Haha.

They are expensive so I agree now the cars are quite cheap spending potentially a couple grand on a diff is over the top in most cases.

Yes, much like the setup on the new focus rs.
Very trick technology compared to our antique 172 setup which is the same as a Renault 5 basically.

Yeah its the revo knuckle on the rd isn't it?

Yeah the similarities between the 5 an the Clio is funny, there almost identical in places but it works I suppose.

Yeah revoknuckle is what ford calls it on the rs.

The 5 worked well so Renault stuck with the design till 2005. Lol

I would imagine your friend is thinking of the R26 (the Megane) as this has an LSD i beleive.

Pretty much ^ There's a few items that need addressing for a Megane gearbox to go in before you even look at the running gear, think the sump being one of them as it's in the way. All that effort, I'd be wanting the engine in there too!

Do it properly and put the whole engine and box in, lol

engine an box would be epic but even though its seems a relatively easy conversation the parts alone would fetch big £££.

I was thinking more down the lines of the actual LSD not the Megane gearbox. Don't know how cheap the LSD could be had but if you could fit it yourself it could be a worth while mod.

Its not really an item you see for sale TBH mate.

You can buy a quaiffe for them for 600 quid new anyway.

£600 a good price, I bet a Megane LSD would be five times that new lol!

Clio 172 one is half as much again.

By the way if you are ever buying Quaiffe products drop me a PM and I can help you out with putting you in touch with someone who can get them cheaper, normally by about 15-20% (the 600 I mentioned is what IIRC he does them for not what you will see listed as retail)
