DOG BONE??

Hi guys the other day when i pulled away i got a bag noise come from the front wen i changed into second gear it only happened a couple of times now it doesnt seem to be doing it could i possibly have a problem with gear box mount? or engine mount. please help

Check your dogbone mount (one below the car, its twisted - looks like a dogs bone) the bushes will be past it.

would this sound be hapning all the time or intermitant? as first gear has alot of torgue?

Depends if it's a ph1 172, they aren't twisted

Noise comes from nearside footwell? Mine did and got a dogbone from HillPower and problem solved. 10 mins to fit.

If it seems to happen as the car nearly looses traction (worse in wet) or when you slam it in gear at speed then it probably if the dogbone. Not too expensive if you fit it yourself.

^^^was that a dogbone with uprated bushes? was it the full assembly or just the bushes?

if you don't mind be asking how much was it?

nick at hill power tunes my car anyway but its a williams not a 172/182, its go away now but im going in to get a new dog bone fitted with the bushes reversed as the uprated version.£65 supplied and fitted
