dogbone mount on stock eveything else ?

thinking about getting a flo-flex poly bushes for my dog bone , all other mounts are stock but relatively new.

would that damage the other mounts ? because right now pulling off hard from 1st gear or from second while engine is cold causes a small bang sound. what would be the benefit ?

not to pull hard while the engine is cold is a good place to stop, wait untill its been running for a bit and warmed up before hammering it bud.

The flo-flex mounts are abit s**t tbh.

I've got one on mine (although not for much longer) and it's started to fail after 6,000 miles.
The banging sound is most likely the exhaust hitting the ARB, a new dogbone will fix that.

As above, let it warm up before you kick it, it'll last you much longer.

yup, dogbone will stop the banging.
either oem or powerflex.

The rest of the mounts are fine standard. Vibra's will give a bit of vibration, but that's the price for decent support.

I had vibra technic mounts fitted to my old 172 and it vibrated the cabin like hell. Don't get me wrong the car drove brilliant with them fitted.

There is Youtube video which says otherwise . However, alot depends on the state of the mounts prior to removal. Anything new will feel amazing compared to knackered mounts.

I would like to go in a VibraT car to make my own mind up though if anyone is willing to show me near Leamington Spa/Warwick. I know my RST is fine on the Vibra Technics mounts .

It's also probably worth noting that I have a skinny bony bum too so I'd feel stuff even more so than a bigger heiny.

Without sounding dumb how can they be fitted incorrectly? They seemed quite foolproof in terms of fitment.

IMO the dogbone poly bush does sweet FA.

Do it properly, get Vibratechnics. Hands down the best thing I did to my clio.

Ref. fitting incorrectly - I think the trick is to start the car with them slightly loose or something, didn't fit them myself mind you.

Not seated correctly, let them vibrate into place before tightening.

A bit off topic -
After a while with the Vibra technic mount, I put back the original for two reasons -
First it vibrates the rear view mirror and compromises the clarity of the view. Not very obvious, the vibration is very high frequency, but if you hold the mirror you can see the difference. Very noticeable sometimes on my G1W camera though to the point where you can't read license plates when you should easily.
And second, as a driver I almost can't feel the g-forces when accelerating and cornering no matter how hard I drive (new michelin PS3 if you wonder). The brain simply filters it to keep you focused, because it can anticipate the moves. when I'm a passenger I'm very sensitive. So the super stiff mount made on\off throttle play almost impossible to feel, the oem one (whice is brand new, from ktec), brings the car back to life.
Now I'm also thinking about an OEM dogbone to replace the powerflex, but it's probably a waste of money. However I tend to believe the powerflex mount causes the upper engine&gearbox mounts excessive work and wear, any thoughts ?

Ive got the newer vibratechnic mounts (dont know if there is a difference) and powerflex dogbone and they have only been on 800 miles and I dont have any vibrations.

I also have another 182 that has the standard mounts to compare it to.

The dogbone would be a sure definite for powerflexing as I can massively tell the difference between the two cars.

SO if i decide to get all vibra technics mounts , I should tighten them to 90% ( how can I tell what's 90% ? ) , start the engine , let them "sink in" with the rattles , engine off and then final tightning ? any torque figures ?

this engine mounts thing drives me mad. makes me remember my gen 1 peugeot 106.
some people say the dogbone mount should be stock and that people who use powerflex on it "learn the hard way" that it's soft for a reason as all strain goes to other mounts.

also they say i should try loosening the dogbone mount and the right engine mount, physically move the engine forward (tilt), tighten the right engine mount and finally the dogbone mount.
and everything should be stock rubber mounts.

I'm kinda clueless. car is a city car, not track car. and the engine kinda rattles when pulling slowly from standstill on first gear. (If i floor it, it will bang somewhere)
