I have done millions of changes on the 16v engines and only ever put in about 4-4.5 litres. The rated capacity is 4.7 litres I think, but you never get it all out anyway.
Renault were constantly changing the size of the sumps on the clio 16v engines due to lubrication problems, so the later the model, the bigger the sump is likely to be.
Thats a good point Matt. I beleive the later 16v sumps were the same size as the Williams? What their capacity I dont know - but a litre or so more is a hefty increase. Ive changed the oil in the Williams several times and not put more than 5 litres in.
