Door mirrors

Does anyone know if there,s a way to remove the door mirror cases without removing the mirror glass itself.i want them off to colour code them.

there is a way to get the glass out, but no sure how. Think they are locked in somehow and they need to be turned, then pulled out - check a haynes. Not sure if they are easier to get out, or put back in.

I removed the whole mirror to colour code them. masked over the glass.

If it is the new shape Clio then yo need to remove the mirror glass first so you can get at the clips holding the cover in place. It is simple enough to do though - get a screwdriver or something thin and flat and carefully prise the mirror glass out at the top. It is only held in plastic clips and it doesnt need much force to unclip it. Once it has been unclipped you will see there are two wires plugged onto the back of it - remove these and thats it out, you will then see the 4 plastic clips that hold the cover in place.
