Down on power - dci

Noticed on the drive home yesterday that I was lacking in power mid range. I used to be able to hear the turbo quite prominently (possibly due to boost leak) but now I can barely hear it at all and the car is very noticibly slower mid range, where it used to peak torque.
Runs fine apart from being down on power as far as I can tell, isn't chucking out a load of smoke or anything.

Any ideas on easy things to check that might be causing the issue?

I would check the 'possible boost leak' you may have first.
