Drag coefficient

Just browsing on the specs of 172

the drag coefficient on a Mk2 172 is 0.36

and the 172 Cup is 0.346

so the splitter fitted on the car actually counts for 0.014 reduction of drag?

thats pretty massive for a set of splitters. no wonder 172 CUP is faster

wonder if my astra splitter does the same thing or not...

Is the top speed of the cup any higher than that of the 172? because as far as I know drag-coefficient only really affects top end

top end on CUP is 138MPH. The CUP is also 3mm lower than 172 so this will help on drag coefficient too.

It also effects acceleration as any oposite force on the car will slow it down. But im sure ya wouldnt notice it.........

Try folding back the wing mirrors - that will make a bigger difference.

Well my Cup must be dog slow because Renault forgot to fit my splitter and its still on order 2 weeks later!

Splitter is for downforce which decreases top speed, so yours will be a lil faster.
