Drag Racing @ Shakespeare: Sat 27/10/12

I haven't been to a meet in what feels like years! When is it and what time?! Il be there! May try and bring the van
 
We all should really start ringing them up and booking this thing,
as we all have to pay individually for the day through thier booking line,
then pay again on the day to run.

Or am I the only one that hasn't done this yet?
 
Will be setting off in 6 hours from Preston.

None of us have booked tickets in advance we are all paying on the day.

Look out for a silver corsa C20LET with slicks and Mini Clubman with VR6 Turbo in the boot! Hopefully will see some Clio's there!

Dave I was told pay on the day and no need to book in advance or let them know about numbers coming.
 
My mate with the Subaru has cancelled cus he has gotta go wolves match :-(

I think I'm still coming though.
He let me have a go in his car today. My god, absolutely rapid! Couldn't believe how fast it was.

Are you camping the weekend?
It's the Shakespeare annual halloween bonfire burn up fancy dress.

Might be worth mentioning it's fancy dress ;)

I'll need the final numbers by thursday 25th as that way then I can let jerry at Shakespeare know how big an area to section off for us to park up.

On the day I'll also get us all registered with the timing office so all of our times can be compiled into a results table of sorts..... For bragging rights ;).

Nope I think anybody is welcome to be honest. I'm not sure if I'm going to run now either. :( got some bits that I want sorting and don't want to risk having even more bits to sort.
 
Tom...anyone is welcome. Chris's mate with the Scooby was down originally...so why would we stop someone else in a non-Clio?

Shouldnt be a problem I would have said. :)

Any ideas for meet time and arrival time? Friends are asking and it's only 9 days away. Don't want to let anyone down last minute.

Should get back with all details by end of day today mate. I'm waiting for them to confirm times and also double checkiing everything.
Who has helmets for this as I was meant to be borrowing a couple of my brothers for you all to borrow but he's now in Germany and not sure he'll be back.
As for convoys I'm thinking of maybe a meeting point at Renault Wolverhampton and then maybe another where the m5 meets the m42 at bromsgrove if anyone is from round there. Any further south than that and people may as well go straight there?
 
There will be a couple of us meeting at Mcdonalds at Cribbs causeway on Saturday morning for anyone in the South West.

Is anyone going fancy dress (aparently there are competitions and prizes for this?!)
 
I've got a helmet people can lend. It's medium in size if that helps ;)

I don't think I'm running but ill come along to watch and natter.
 
I was going to buy one but i'm absolutely f*cked for money
so i'm going to see if I can borrow one of someone that owns a motorbike.

If not we might end up passing yours around like a £10 quid hooker. lol
 
So had a reply today. It opens on Friday night and gates are open right through so what do people think about aiming to be there about 8:30am on the Saturday?

The email I had confirms 'There is no need to rebook admission tickets or RWYB'.

It also states that 'Helmets can be hired for a nominal fee. We also hold your drivers licence until the return of the helmet on the day.'

Sorry if this creates a problem for your money making Chris haha.
 
Na it's ok. I'm sure the nominal fee is at least a Tenner like at fcs.
 
Everyone seems to be saying they're just going to watch,
so is anyone other than me running down the strip?

I was really looking forward to handing all your arses to you as well. :dapprove:
