Dribbling rear washer 182

when i use my rear washer, it dribbles for a day or so afterwards...

any known problem with this, or is it just a "renault thing"?

There is a valve in the line thats supposed to stop that on some cars, but iirc the Clio relies on the pump to provide a sort of hydraulic seal.

If the pump is worn, you may also notice it takes a moment from pushing the button till the fluid sprays.

One pump does both front and rear screens by running in two directions, one way for front other way for rear, so in theory if the pumps worn, the "fault" should be at both ends of the car

it appears to work instantly both front and rear... it just dribbles at the rear for the next day or so

From the bottom of the washer bottle (where the pump is) to the nozzle at the rear, is a good 2ft lift.

If its dribbling all the time, it will empty out the bottle eventually.

It says to me, pump impeller letting fluid past due to wear.

hmm might just be a split hose/connector.

i'll pop off the spoiler and have a look. Cheers mate.
