Drive shaft sizes help needed

Got a ph1 and my driveshaft was knackered so got a 2nd hand perfect condition one and just fitted it gone to put the hub nut on and it doesn't fit.

Measured the OD of the new shaft and it was 20mm and on my old one its 16mm.

So what's what is the new one from a ph2 or something he's adamant it's from a ph1

Help appreciated

Not measure the length but the thread that the nut goes on..

I've found a nut that fits the shaft but still don't know weather to use it or not I'm guessing it can't be a genuine Renault or something as I thought the hub nuts were all the same thread size

Your speaking about the outside of the shaft that goes into hub right? All 1*2's are 23 spline outer, if its not its wrong.

Sounds like a remake shaft or something. If the nut sits nice against the hub nice, its the right length and splines are right, fire it on.

Yeah that's the bit ill count the splines later but I also measured my cup one and that was 16mm so guessing its a non genuine or something
