Driveshaft Gaiters??

Was just putting a new clip on the outer drivers side gaiter (old one broke off, greese all over inside wheel). But unfortunatley I noticed the inner gaiter nearest the gearbox had split all the way around.

What sort of price would I be looking at for a garage to change this, think it might be a bit beyond me. I might aswell get both gaiters changed on that driveshaft if they'll be taking it out.

Thanks,

Ed

Which side is it as theres a big difference. If its the passenger side it will be a lot more.

Drivers side. You don't have to drain the gearbox oil for that one do you?

Thats right the oil doesnt need to be drained, it just pulls off. Although on some I think there is a pin you will need to punch out. Theres places that sell universal ones or I think renault still sell the repair kit for the inner gaitor.

Got quoted 100 to do both gaiters on the drivers side, is that about right for parts and labour?

Noticed mine had grease in the same place.

Mine clunky on full lock, as it has only recently started doing this is it best to replace the shaft or get an outer cv boot repair kit?

Thanks

That sounds not bad when you take into account labour rates and parts ;)

Go for it mat and it'll save you f**king about with it.
