the inner boot is unavailable. Refurb shaft from renault is £145, new is £245

New i think they are £200 ish maybe? Not sure if they still do recons

problem is it runs right next to the block and is internally clipped, new one needed

i had to get birchdown to chop off the corner as it kept happening on mine

i had a nock appear and thought it was coilovers so when i had a look i found the gater split.could it be this thats nocking.the driveshaft

Its somethings to do witht he shaft being sealed in the factory i think. Its not a normal boot i can remember tht much from seeing one.

is it a phase 1? some of them can have a new boot, no others can. you're highly unlikely to be able to have just a new boot

I had the inner CV boot go on mine after a trackday two weeks ago.

Temporary fix was to repack the ripped CV boot with grease and wrap food bags around it then secure with duck tape and zip ties.. worked really well!



Althought it was never really meant to be a permanent fix

Renault quoted me £52+VAT for the inner boot OR a full replacement driveshaft assembly with CV Boots/Joints from Cliospares costs £80+P&P..

I went with the later, really happy with their speed of delivery and service

becasue it cannot be repaired due to the way its made and because it virtually touches the back of the engine hence external clips can't be used

Oh you probably can repair it, but the labour involved in fixing 1 driveshaft will work out maybe a little bit cheaper than just replacing the unit for a new one, hence we're saying what we're saying

my parts guy said it was flagged when i first asked about them last year. He traced it back to source and it was just something someone had forgotten to remove. Seems to be the case that more and more fitments are becoming available too thankfully

Will a 172 drivers side drive shaft fit my 182 cup? Also what is the best way of getting the drive shaft out of the hub I have tried everything and it won't budge?

nope, 182 cup are model specific

hub nut off, ball joint off (unbolt it, easier) hammer, done
