driving funny...

Whilst driving on the motorway, there was suddenly a noise coming from the wheels, sound and felt like the wheels were flat but checked and they were fine.. everytime the wheel rotates over 40mph, there's some kind of noise and it gets worse whilst taking turns/bends over 35/40mph, it vibrates the steering a bit, been told by a mate it might be a knackered wheel bearing? what does it sound like and if it is a wheel bearing are they expensive...

Does the noise stop when you turn the other way?

nope it happens both ways, the vibrates the dash a little... goes quieter when driving straight but it's still there....

feels like driving on a flat tyre.....
