droning noise since 40 mm springs

ok, so about a month ago i had a set of 40mm apex springs fitted and ever since I've had a drone coming from what sounds like the back two wheels, it is very hard to tell if it is one or both.

my first thought was a wheel bearings but i thought to my self what are the chances of both going at the same time and it coinciding with having the springs fitted so next i thought rubbing but no matter from which angle i look i can't see anything which is remotely close to the tyre.

my other thought is that the people at the garage when putting the wheels back on have put the rears on the wrong way round and if the tyres had a direction they would both be running backwards but i can't see an arrow on my tyre so have no idea if the wheels are the wrong way round or if the tyres are directional at all.

has anyone else had a similar problem or got any ideas? any help would be much appreciated.

My money would be on wheel bearing mate!

but it sounds as though the noise is coming from both while driving, how do i ascertain which side it is coming from?

jack the rear up, put the car in gear, take the hand brake off and spin the wheel should be able to hear a grinding type noise and there might be some play in the wheel.

Ok well I'll have a look tommorow any idea how much roughly a garage would charge for a bearing to be changed?

Rear wheels might be rubbing on the arch liners, you might be better off taking the rear liners off if you have rubbing issues.

They are no where neer the arch liners so I've ruled out rubbing

Think when i got mine done it was about £110 but that was only for one side!

Change them both yourself for about that, £110ish should get you discs, bearings and pads.

Unless it's a Dci 100, I'd imagine it's a brake shoe setup.

turned out it was the wheel bearings, one was absolutely fucked and the other on its way out so i had them both changed by a mate.
