Drove the R27 at the weekend

  Dirty E91
Had the 182 in for it's first MOT so had an hour to waste, noticed there was an R27 on the forecourt so decided to how it stacked up against my current car.

First off looked great in the Nimbus grey(?) with the dark alloys and red callipers, seats are great and generaly all round the quality has been improved, as you'd expect.
In town, was very easy to drive in crawling traffic, light clutch, very light steering (electric power steering?) and thanks to the ratios being so close on the gearbox you can happily pull away in 2nd from standstill.

Once out on the open country A and B roads it felt nice and composed through sweeping left - right bends at about 50 where as I would maybe have a little bit of lean in the 182, brakes are great, was suprised it seemed to pull quite well as the car was still being "run in" (200 miles on the clock)only took it up to 4K but it seemed swifted enough, still didn;t feel as "torquey" as my car when i got back into it though.

When I returned the sales guy(called steve@wests on here) who was running it mentioned that compared to his previous 197 he had it felt keener to pull/accelerate and also the exhaust sounded different leading him to belive that maybe Renault had "done some work" on the newer cars. He also mentioned a RS Twingo which would be more like the 182 preformance wise.

i have my reserves about the rs twingo being as quick as the 182 as the 182 is near on the same performance as the 197. (yes me and steve have debates about this, agree to disagree lol)

ill be having the very same R27 again tonight :)
