DRY ICE!!

  EK4, 632 on black, Mk2Ph3
Hi
i was just wondering whether there are any alternatives instead of using dry ice? (been suggested air-duster from PC world), my cousins car has a two football sized dents on the front wing

are there any other products that can replace dryice without having to get it?

thanks

air duster isn't exactly the ideal thing, it isn't exactly designed to freeze... however, freezer spray is. Just an aerosol that sprays a liquid which comes out at -50, we use it at work and get it from RS components (rswww.com)

u can get it from plumbin shops and places like b&q because they use it to freeze inlet and out let pipes when changing radiators and that and that stuff is good to !!

So, whats the proceedure with this stuff then?

Spray on and dent pops out?
Spray on from which side of dent?
I'm gonna have a look for utube vids :)

the procedure i have in my mind is, heat the surface up with a hairdryer, then immediately spray freezer spray on it and the dent should pop back out. then wipe it down..
i read it off here before..

sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Surely heating up your paintwork then freezing it straight away may crack your paint???

well it doesent work on previous owner bonnet closing dents :(

Going to give it another go heating on the top and then spraying underneath and that'll be the 7.95 can pretty much all gone.

what a mug :(

you can try the maplin one. its just under £7. might try it again but i think the cars going to my uncles garage.
i very doubt itll work on small dents.

I used the hairdrier and used a bottle of compressed air for it.

Make the dent so much smaller, worked great on a larger dent also.

Didnt make any mess or crack paint as said previously.

^^ as said, did not make a mess of the paint at all ^^ paint is fine.

there is no difference between the spray duster or "tinned wind" and the plumbers freeze spray. Both are just tinned liquid CO2
Hold the freeze spray upside down and it's spray duster, hold the spray duster upside down and it's freeze spray
