QD and Der Wunder towels.
likewise and i seem to drink my way through litres of megs 16 final inspection/last touch
From expireance Id say
Waffle Weave towels.
Better for pat drying where you place the towel on a surface and pat the towel as you would a paper towel. The waffle weave works like a suction cups sucking up the water into the towel. probs the safest way to dry the car with a towel as there is no movement.
Deep Pile Towels
I like these towels best for a good qquick dry. Method would be used is much like drying your self, wiping over the body with little force to soak up the water, Id reccomend using a QD such as Last touch to prevent things such as marring. its critical pile is as deep as possible. By using a QD your towell will work very well leaving a nice shiney surface but a silicone base QD will shorten the life span of your towell.
Leaf Blower
By far the safest way to dry your car as you dont even touch the car with anything, simply blowing away the water from the surface. It is also good for blowing water from crevices where water ususally drips from at a later time fudging up a polish or wax
Chemical guys sell a smaller leaf blower device that makes you looks like less of a goon drying your car with a huge leaf blower.
squigee to remove surface water fast, then a giant microfibre drying towel.

on a black car you will see marring very quickly, presume it is something like the autoglym ones mate?

Think this is the best you can get imo, had mine 6 months and still very very plush.
Don't even need to ring out once dryed. And can literally dry your car in minutes. Even on black cars, you can do it perfect with no marks.
