DS3000 or PF97?

Had pretty serious fade at Bedford, and it seems I'm now asking for more than DS2500's have to give.

Can anyone say which are "better"? Dust isn't an issue as my wheels are black anyway and I hardly ever clean my car...I just need to know that when I step on the middle pedal they're gonna haul me up sharpish.

I think dave182 had issues with the dust actually spreading up the side of the car and damaging the paint a little? Might be wrong though.

Would Pagid Blue's be an alternative?

Why not go for a big brake kit?

Larger calipers and so on?

Think a new set of rear pads may be in order now, LOL

no not really, but Beford is a fast circuit with some HEAVY braking points

It is, regular stops from 100mph+.

They still kinda hauled me up, but I lacked confidencce in them which is what I'm looking for when pressing on.

yeah a wee bit, but thats normal for any pad on track

they stop you fine from cold, although they'll sqeauk a bit

If you want to stop, it has to be PF97. Never had a problem with the dust sticking to the bodywork, although i do clean / wax the car fairly regularly. Half way through my 3rd set of them now, they keep me coming back.

My two front wheels are now f*cked but thats only from when they get REALLY hot (the last airfield day did the damage to mine) in which case you'll probably be using your track wheels. Dust from day to day use is not too much of a problem and will brush off.

Had DS3000's on my last Ring trip 1600 miles with brand new Brembo's and DS3000's. They were the dogs bollox little pedel effort (but had new race fluid in) huge braking force with little pedel force... LASTED THE WHOLE TRIP BUT THE DISKS HAD NO MARKS LEFT ON THEM (2 dots) AND THE PADS WERE TO THE BACKING PLATES....They were fooked with 1300 miles on the motorway i.e no braking........so 300 miles of abuse and fook'd.....im hard on the brakes

PF's are supposed to be excellent probably as good as DS3000's but they wreck dics and wheels. But i aint arsed... so will be going backs to either soon.... been on DS2500 on the last track day vids and they are not in the same league........

The PF's are pretty dam good on track, just the dust that puts me off personally.

as i said gary, polishing your car so much causes static, which attrachs the dust to your paint work

if you don't wash your car you don't have a problem!
