Dull respray problem

My clios been broken into far too many times (regardless of the amount of security I keep putting in there!) so I finally decided to delock.

All went well with the removal and filling, but after respraying and lacquering, the area looks very dull in comparison to the original paintwork. Ive tried polishing although this doesnt seem to have made much of a difference. Any ideas to get it nice and shiny again??

how many motors have you re-sprayed in your time?

This was my first - but hey everyone has to start somewhere. The sprayings gone reasonably well as the colour has blended in well, its just the shine thats missing...

If the worst comes to the worst I can take it in somewhere and pay to get it sorted, but I thought it would be at least worth trying myself! =)

wet and dry it down again, they re laquer.

How many coats of paint and lacquer did you put down, same as factory?
