DVD player (hand brake cable)

I got a pioneer dvd player out of my old 106. im putting it in my new clio and before i go tearing pieces out of the dash out i just thought id ask the question. there is a wire off the dvd player that has to clamp to the hand brake wire so that it can sence if your driving or not. does anyone no where it is and what colour it is? any input would be great cheers!!

Just earth it and you can use all functions like the handbreake was on.

Not sure what colour but follow it back from the handbrake to the headunit.

Did you old 106 work when the hand brake was off?

i earthed mine to the back of the headunit, dont use it for dvds realy anyway lol

It only worked in the 106 when i was parked up with the hand brake on, i think that it only plays dvd's when 12volts is going through the connector. Is it not illigal to have it so you can have dvd's going while your driving? i heard that you could get fined? i don't really use it that often ether but they do look cool. lol.

yes its illegal, but the police have never said anything to me about it

just earth it anywhere and you can use it while driving

it only takes an earth off the handbrake when its pulled up

yer mate just crimp it to the earth cable then you can use it when the handbrakes up. done this with myn is illegal but gotta be pretty unlucky for the police to say anything

my mate got pulled, and he asked the officer and he said that aslong as its not a distracting image then its ok to have the screen up (if its a motorised 5 inch thing)

So are all the wires behind the head unit? coz in the 106 the wire that i attached it to was down the bottom of the dash board and i had to feed it through.

All the wires connertors are sitting behind the headunit!

Yeah i've earthed mine, but lost the novelty of the dvd player now

indeed i aint watched a full movie in there in my life lol just leave it on vehicle dynamics my cars speedo is in kmh so it helps alot LOL

The main reason I have a DVD player is that I've put my music onto a DVD disc and fits about 10 albums on one disc.

Plus when I'm in work sometime watch a DVD.

I got it coz i thought it looked cool!! lol. also to watch skate dvd's while out and about, never watched a movie on it though. did drain the battery a few times in the 106. had to push start it across a mackies car park. lol
