Nah its working fine for decrypted discs and these can be burned easily and is still burning cdr's

It gives a blue screen after 23% and then restarts my laptop (its been virus checked and spyware checked) I have reset settings etc to no avail

Sounds like a windows related issue rather than your dvd writer , especially if its still burning cd's. Did you try uninstalling / reinstalling shrink , or look for a newer version of shrink .

Clonedvd's better than shrink imo , a couple of clicks and its done :)

I've never pulled a laptop to bits , but when my writer starts giving me problems ( smokin f*cks em up ) i just pull it to bits , clean the lens with a cotton bud and meths .This is usually indicated with the message " power calibration error " or if your using cheap n nasty disks .

Removed both the drive and shrink to enable the latest versions to become installed

Drive cleaned with lens cleaner and sprayed with spray duster and virus checked - Using Nero 6 iirc

Only new software was XP service pack 2 after i had reset laptop to factory settings but it had been wroking ok for last couple of days

Thinking i may just buy a new driive and see if this cures it , external dvd burner can be bought for around £40 -£50 and its a better spec than the one i have

I tried to use DVD decryptor which managed to decrypt the dvd fine just cant figure how to burn it from there

Gonna look for a copy of clone dvd to try first

dvdshrink is the best program what problems are you having, i've got most of them and dvd shrink is far superior.

^^^ Clonedvd for me everytime ^^^^

Used to use shrink , but i prefer clonedvd a couple of clicks and its done . Personally i think its faster than shrink , but its always good to have a couple of programs rather than relying on one .

If you read the original post you will see the problems he is having . Blue screen of death everytime using shrink .

Does Clone allow you to edit the dvd, remove menus and set start/end frames?

I use this feature on shrink but if clones quicker and does this ill give it a try.

Does exactly what it says on the tin . Clones dvd's , shrinks and burns etc... you have the options to remove menus , subtitles , change audio but not set start / end frames . There is a slightly newer version out now than the one i'm using so i'm not sure if that would be any different . Since i've never had a problem with the version i have i'm stickin' with it , a case of better the devil ya know :)
